Buffalo, NY - Jason Cardillo won the 165-pound championship to headline The Rock's effort at the University of Buffalo Open on December 30.
Cardillo, who won two matches by technical fall in Buffalo, is being redshirted during the 2004-05 season after winning the NCAA Division I East Regional championship in 2003-04.
He was one of eight Rock wrestlers who competed in the UB Open. All The Rock representatives competed as "unattached" wrestlers as the UB Open was not an official part of The Rock's 2004-05 schedule.
Chris Clarke complemented Cardillo's effort with a second-place finish in the 125-pound weight class.
Gerald Christian and Steve Kocevar garnered sixth-place finishes for SRU.
