South Fayette Takedown Club

What is WAWA?

WAWA stands for Western Area Wrestling Association. WAWA is a co-op of 12 schools working to promote Youth wrestling. The participating schools are:

Aliquippa	Moon
Carlynton	Oak Glen
Quigley	East Liverpool
Freedom	South Side Beaver
Hopewell	South Fayette
Montour	West Allegheny

WAWA schools participate in club sanctioned matches and tournaments. Sanctioned matches are organized by the association and normally include 4 or 5 teams.

Tournaments are open to all of the schools in the club.

Match Rules:

All wrestling follows the rules spelled out by the PIAA Wresting Association.
Opponents are chosen by weight, age and skill level.
Weight is established by the Team Roster. There are noweigh-ins at matches.
No trophies or awards are given out. Approximate wrestling/team time is 4 hours.
