November 23, 2002: This is my first team match of the season. My coach said just practice the moves he showed us in practice. I wrestled 3 kids from Hopewell. My first match I pinned the kid in the 3rd period. The next match was hard. I lost 12-3. The kid got a lot of point for Takedowns. I got pinned in the 3rd period of my last match. I was mad that I lost those 2 matches.
November 21, 2002: I went to South Fayette practice. First we practiced Stand Up's. Then we had to get out and take them down in 8 seconds. Then we did live wrestling.
November 19, 2002: I went to South Fayette. First we did a move called The Russian Tie. You grab their left wrist with your right hand and twist it. Then you put your right foot in between theirs and trip them forward. Next we did a Takedown drill. Then we did monkey rolls, where you jump over a person.
November 13, 2002: I went to Quest. I was in a group of 3. Tonight we reviewed how to work legs. First we practiced everything we learned using legs. While we were doing that, he called us up in groups and we had to put our chest on the big ball and cross our ankles and lift our knees in the air and be on your finger tips. Then we practiced putting our legs in without looking back. Then we did live wrestling with a leg in for an hour. There were only 7 kids there so we got more 1 on 1 attention.
November 12, 2002: I went to South Fayette for our first real team practice of the season. First we did live wrestling. Then we ran around the wrestling room for 3 minutes. Then we practiced a Stand-up. Then we did live wrestling again. I pinned J.J. twice, he pinned me once. He pinned me because I was trying to use some of the new leg moves I learned at Quest on him and I messed up. Then we played snake.
November 06, 2002: I went to Quest. This was the last day to learn how to work legs. First we practiced everything he taught us. Then we practiced putting legs in without looking back. Then he showed us a different way to put legs in. Then we did live wrestling. We had 3 people in my group. First we had to put legs on the person the whole time. We did that so the person on top tried to work legs. We did live wrestling at the same time. We did 75 push-ups, 10 squats and 30 pull-ups.
November 04, 2002: I went to Quest. This was my last week to learn how to work legs. First we practiced everything he taught us. Then we did drills. The first drill we did they were flat on their back. I put my legs in. Then the person tried to sit up and the person who had the leg in lifted the leg and drove with their other leg. Then we did a drill when they lay on their left side. Then you put the leg in on their left leg. Then they elbow you in the ribs. Next you Wizard it and put your elbow down to their ear. Coach Akerly said I was doing good, but I was flopping my leg up and down. Then we did 85 push-ups and 35 pull-ups.
